INTRODUCTION

My name is Matthew H. Jager. I am a multidisciplinary graphic designer with a focus on brand management, art direction, marketing & promotion, and social media management. My work recently has been as a Production Designer and Freelance Graphic Designer, with previous work being managing positions in the live events and music industry.

Apart from my technical skills, I hold myself to top tier professionalism, community management, customer service, team management, project management, and an unwillingness to become complacent with just going with the status quo. I am always looking for ways to innovate and evolve all aspects of my work. Through having a holistic approach to design, I believe that a more engaging dialogue between a brand and it’s audience can be achieved leading to long term growth, increased community engagement, and lasting stability.

My goal is to always be an indispensable member of any team or project I am assigned to. I have strong attention to detail, an uncompromising work ethic, and I am always looking for ways to better myself as a designer. In recent years I have been working mostly for music & event industry companies, but I have experience working for small start ups and multimillion multinational companies as well.

JOB EXPERIENCE

Uplift Marketing (2023)

Graphic Designer, Web Designer
(current position)

Swiftly slotting into the workflow of Uplift Marketing, during my time with the company I have created the winning designs for dozens of beautiful websites, brochures, and other marketing needs for their various clients. Each project I have been assigned has allowed me to demonstrate my prowess in art direction, branding consistency, and multidisciplinary design skills depending on the specific needs from the client.

Highlights include an in depth revamp of a major national water testing website in which I lead development on the new visual direction for the site and their product listings, holistic brand refreshes for clients that include multiple sub brands or related branding, and full service support marketing needs for important company launch initiatives.

Lantern Press (2022-2023)

Production Designer

Lantern Press is a high end travel destination merchandise company providing a wide range of products for both general needs and client specific requests. I worked in the Production Design department as a graphic designer adapting artwork into a multitude of products on a daily basis.

My role was to format artwork into a wide range of products with strict guidelines, create print files, create mockups, work as quality assurance checkers between the illustrators and production house, and work in tight deadlines to meet client order due dates. Our work needed to be highly accurate and efficient while also being able to be nimble and flexible to work on sudden rush orders that would spring up.

Team work between the department was vital to it's success. Communication and being able to flex onto helping where necessary was extremely important to the role and is where I thrived. Being a team player while also making sure your personal deadlines were hit was enjoyable to juggle as I have had an extreme amount of experience with this from previous high volume jobs.

White Rabbit Group (2019-2022)

CCO, Art Direction, Graphic Design, Marketing, Social Media Management

Durring my time at White Rabbit Group, my primary responsibilities were handling branding & marketing material creation for all WRG branded events & festivals, developing and running the DSTRTION club event series, and working with WRG & LED to develop Fresh Pressed Festival. Additionally, I was brought on to the board of directors for White Rabbit Group as the Chief Community Officer.

Additionally I was responsible for booking and coordinating 80 names for Excision’s Bass Canyon 3rd stage & silent disco across 4 days during 2021.

AMF/Friendship Festival (2019-2020)

Graphic Design

Hired by Justin Marine and Garry Richards, I have been working with the AMF, Friendship, and Destructo brands creating various materials for events and marketing campaigns. Notably, I helped with the Friendship 2020 campaign creating vital materials for the event’s success, and had my key artwork design selected for Friendship 2021 before it’s cancelling due to COVID-19.

USC Events (2017-2019)

Graphic Design, Social Media Management, Community Management, Marketing, Copywriting, Lineup Curation

I originally started doing social media coordination and community management for USC Events in Seattle, and over the two years I worked there, rose through the ranks to take on additional roles such as art director, social media manager, Guest Services Digital department creator & director, and community director, while also being a key player for marketing initiatives and music lineup curation. During my time at USC Events I was often being referred to by the CEO as “one of his star players” and “most consistent assets” at his disposal.

My team management skills were showcased as I directly oversaw the social media coordinator, and the digital guest services teams, coordinating both social posts and responses to customers while performing all of the other various roles I held for USC Events.

Epic Team Adventures (2014-2017)

Brand Management, Social Media Management, Marketing & Promotions, Copywriter, Customer Service, Web UI/UX

I was the sole designer at Epic Team Adventures in Seattle during the formation of the company through the initial launch of the company. My contributions to the development of ETA are the logo creation, website design, and business development for the launch of the company.

Post launch I then became the brand manager, social media manager, ran marketing campaigns, provided general design needs, and also ran many of the escape rooms. My work helped develop the company into one of the top rated escape room & puzzle adventure venues Seattle and the United States.

Marque of Brands (2016)

Marketing Manager, Brand Manager, Promotions, Social Media Coordinator, Business Development, Copywriter

MoB is a multi-million dollar multinational company that sells beauty products across Australia, the EU, the UK, and North America. I was brought on as a contract worker to handle the marketing campaigns for 6 brands including St Tropez, MineTan, and Tan.Easy. Tasks included email campaigns, social media asset creation, blog writing, managing sales & promotions on Big Commerce, and MailChimp.

This position was high output and required a lot of organization in order to stay on top of everything across multiple time zones. I learned a lot about keeping a strong process of organization from my experiences at MOB.

Marque of Brands (2015-2016)

Graphic Designer, Product Design, Print/Digital Design

I was apart of See Seven, a small boutique design firm that specializes in branding and brand management. I was in charge of all design tasks for the many clients that See Seven has ranging from pre-production to final implementation and execution. Since the team was so small, I was integral in all design decisions and strategy for the varying projects we were working on. I worked with clients both in person, over the phone, and via email to ensure that the work we were doing fit their specific design and business needs. Projects ranged from brochure production, event print material & installations, website design, logo design, and clothing/merchandise creation.
